Test Technician II

Sigma Design is a product development, engineering, and manufacturing firm. Position Details:

  • In-Office in both Redmond, WA or Kirkland, WA

  • The hiring range for this role is typically between $29 and $38, with the full range extending to $46 per hour, based on experience, internal equity, and career progression

Primary Function:

The Test Technician II performs a full range of technical testing assignments with some supervision, taking ownership of individual tasks while supporting root cause analysis and communicating effectively on task-level issues.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

  • Document and implement test processes and schedules independently

  • Follow all specific test guidelines, procedures, and analyze test results with predetermined parameters while maintaining confidentiality of client and impartiality of data and results.

  • Run defined tests and provide detailed observations for failure analysis

  • Work with engineers to develop and refine test procedures

  • Own individual testing tasks with responsibility for quality and timeliness

  • Coordinate basic testing operations with other Technicians

  • Perform preventative maintenance and basic calibrations on test equipment

  • Document test results in multiple formats and ensure data accuracy

  • Provide structured feedback to Test Engineers on test discrepancies

  • Perform first-pass evaluation of test results against predetermined parameters

  • Execute mechanical and electrical assembly processes using hand tools

  • Communicate directly with clients regarding test status when directed

  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-year post-secondary diploma in STEM field preferred

  • Minimum of 2+ years of recent and relevant work experience in product development or manufacturing test environment

  • Good communication skills in English, both written and oral

  • Solid hands-on skills and mechanical aptitude

  • Proficiency with multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and electronic lab equipment

  • Proficiency with Windows, MS Office (Excel, Word, & Outlook)

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic test system issues

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Work Environment:

Standard lab/production environment. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
