Full job description
Must have a broad knowledge of the Plumbing industry and teach courses in the Entry Level Plumbing certificate. Conducts lectures, discussion, and other teaching activities. Relates instruction and material to course objectives. Maintains a high level of excellence in teaching by communicating and interacting effectively with students. Prepares materials needed for instruction and ensure the readiness of facilities for class activities; evaluate and report students’ progress; assign and assist students on class projects; create and deliver lecture demonstrations. Keep student records and adheres to course schedules. Assists Program Director with timely notification of any shortfall in supplies or equipment needed for lab instruction.
This position will be located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus
At least three to five (3-5) years of Residential Plumbing experience, one (1) year of supervisory or training experience; demonstrates command of both Plumbing theory and practice; genuine interest in helping students. Prior experience in education. A Plumbing Certification through the Municipal Association of South Carolina; or a South Carolina Mechanical Contractors License; a South Carolina Residential Builders Commission's Specialty Contractors License in Plumbing is highly desirable. Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
