Full job description

Maintains a high level of excellence in teaching by communicating and interacting effectively with students enrolled in courses within the program area. Prepares materials needed for instruction and ensuring the readiness of facilities for class activities; evaluation and reporting of students’ progress; assigning and assisting students on class projects; creating and delivering lecture demonstrations. Keep student records and adheres to course schedules. Must have a broad knowledge of the residential HVAC industry and HVAC installation, troubleshooting, and repair techniques. Assists the HVAC/R Program Director with timely notification of any shortfall in supplies or equipment needed for lab instruction. HVAC instructors will teach the following courses: HVAC Electrical Operation and Diagnostics, HVAC Refrigeration Cycle Operation and Diagnostics, Heat Pump Operations and Diagnostics, Air Flow Design, Measurement and Diagnostics, Epa 608 Certification Prep, Brazing for HVAC, and Customer Service for HVAC Technicians.

This position will be located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus Associate’s degree in HVAC/R or related skilled trade field and three (3) years of experience, or five (5) years of HVAC industry experience including training or mentoring new employees.

Bachelor's degree in Education with formal training in HVAC/R and three (3) years of teaching in the classroom or in industry. Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
