About Mercor
Mercor's mission is to organize human intelligence to power the AI economy. We're a leading AI data company, building the layer between human expertise and frontier models. Millions of domain experts on the platform are paid over $4 million per day to train frontier AI models. Mercor's APEX benchmark family measures AI's real-world impact on professional work. Mercor Enterprise brings this same infrastructure to Fortune 500 companies: helping companies capture how their best people actually work, translating that expertise directly back into agents.
Mercor is creating a new category of work where expertise powers AI advancement. Achieving this requires an ambitious, fast-paced and deeply committed team. You’ll work alongside researchers, operators, and AI companies at the forefront of shaping the systems that are redefining society. Mercor is a profitable Series C company valued at $10 billion. We work in-person five days a week in our San Francisco, NYC, or London offices. About the Role As Chief of Staff to the Head of Product, you'll be the operational backbone of an org that helps the world's leading AI labs and enterprises transform human expertise into better AI models. Mercor is organizing humanity's expertise into better AI models for every lab and enterprise — and you'll make the team building it run.
You'll work directly with the Head of Product and leadership across every product area — Marketplace, Studio (annotation), RL Environments, and the Eval Platform — turning a fast-moving, multi-team org into a coherent, predictable machine. You'll balance long-term operating strategy with rapid execution, owning the cross-cutting work that falls between teams and directly shaping how well the product org performs. You'll also shape Mercor's customer-facing product narrative, driving deeper relationships across the AI ecosystem
What You'll Do
-
Run the operating rhythm: Establish and drive planning and review cadences across the product org, and prep leadership meetings end-to-end — agendas, pre-reads, the framing data, and follow-through on decisions.
-
Competitive intel
-
Hiring
-
Standardize roadmaps: Maintain a consistent format and quality bar across all product-area roadmaps so leadership can compare, sequence, and resource them apples-to-apples.
-
Own customer communication: Own the monthly product-offering update we send to customers: coordinate inputs from each area, edit to one voice, and ship it on schedule.
-
Build connective tissue: Stand up and coordinate the interfaces between Product and adjacent functions like product marketing and developer relations, so launches and roadmaps plug in cleanly.
-
Strengthen the team: Support product recruiting, own PM onboarding, and coordinate the performance-review process — keeping timelines, calibration, and the bar consistent.
-
Get in the weeds: Take on the highest-leverage cross-cutting initiatives that lack a natural owner, and run them to done.
What We're Looking For
-
Experience: 2+ years in a chief-of-staff, product-ops, strategy & ops, or PM role; exposure to fast-scaling teams preferred.
-
Product Intuition: You have a strong instinct for what a good product looks like and what's worth building, you can pressure-test a decision on the merits rather than procedurally.
-
High Ownership: You take full accountability for outcomes, not just outputs, and nothing drops on your watch.
-
Operational Excellence: You build lightweight processes that create clarity without adding bureaucracy.
-
Structured Communication: You write crisp, exec-ready docs and turn ambiguity into a clear plan others can run with.
-
Cross-Functional Influence: You get things done across teams without formal authority, earning trust from ICs and leadership alike.
-
Judgment & Discretion: You handle sensitive information and competing priorities with sound judgment and low ego.
-
Balance of Rigor & Vision: Equally comfortable running the numbers and framing the strategic narrative behind them.
Benefits
-
Bi-annual performance bonus structure
-
Generous equity grant vested over 4 years
-
Up to $15k Relocation bonus
-
$10K housing bonus (if you live within 0.5 miles of our office)
-
$1.5K monthly stipend for meals
-
Free Equinox membership
-
$200 monthly laundry reimbursement
-
$200 monthly personal wellness reimbursement
-
Health, Dental, Vision insurance
