Description

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

The Amazon Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Infrastructure Build and Operate organization is responsible for operating and maintaining Ground Gateway Terminal sites worldwide.

As a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager, you will serve as a catalyst for operational excellence across our global ground infrastructure. You will drive scalability initiatives, eliminate blockers, and enable our teams to deliver exceptional service to customers. This position requires a systems thinker who can identify inefficiencies, implement data-driven improvements, and partner with global stakeholders to elevate our operational standards.

Key job responsibilities

Develop, own, and continuously refine runbooks for preventative maintenance, break-fix procedures, and grounds maintenance activities

Consolidate operational challenges across global ground gateway sites, conduct root cause analysis, and drive systematic improvements with site management teams

Lead continuous improvement initiatives using data analytics and metrics to optimize processes and service delivery

Work closely with AWS Global Field Operations to streamline equipment staging processes at Ground Gateway facilities

Coordinate with Leo and AWS Supply Chain teams to optimize device sanitization and reverse logistics workflows

Coordinate with vendors who provide third-party services related to maintaining ground infrastructure

Execute global equipment recall and remediation initiatives across existing sites

Enhance as-built inventory management processes to ensure accuracy and accessibility

Close projects effectively by gathering stakeholder feedback, documenting lessons learned, and codifying best practices for organizational knowledge

About the team

Join a team at the forefront of space-based communications infrastructure, where your work directly enables Amazon's ambitious satellite initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to solve challenges at global scale while working with technology and world-class talent.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects

  • Experience prioritizing competing demands, scoping large efforts, and negotiating timelines

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience, preferably in infrastructure, operations, or technology environments

  • Proactive mindset with ability to identify opportunities for process improvements that drive efficiency and elevate service levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, or PMP certificate

  • Experience ability to understand and devise new models that work

  • Experience managing large-scale, geographically distributed portfolios

  • Ability to travel to support deployment and implementation globally.
