Neuromodulation

Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.

The Opportunity

As a member of the regional sales team, the Sales Manager leads territory strategy and team execution to achieve planned objectives in sales volume, market penetration, and profitability while ensuring alignment and collaboration across the team and with sales leadership.

Operating with significant autonomy in a highly matrixed, geographically diverse environment, the incumbent aligns territory priorities with sales leadership and collaborates with clinical and sales teammates to build competency and confidence with Abbott therapies among physicians, staff, and customers.

The Sales Manager exercises sound judgment to plan, organize, and continuously improve territory efficiency, and serves as the first-line manager for aligned Clinical Specialists, with responsibility for supervision, performance management, and development.

What You’ll Work On

Commercial Sales Strategy & Territory Growth

  • Identifies strategies to increase sales of Abbott products/services and overcome barriers that are restricting national growth, adoption and/or patient access to the therapies.

  • Generate additional revenue and expand market penetration in the assigned territory by running strategic and targeted sales initiatives.

  • Performs territory forecasting and revenue planning.

  • Exercises a high degree of autonomy in defining technical and commercial priorities within the territory to achieve sales and operational objectives.

  • Provide actionable territory insights and trend analysis to regional leadership to inform broader commercial strategy.

Account & Customer Relationships

  • Integrates into accounts, builds trust, and establishes strong rapport with new and existing customers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and industry leaders to support growth and customer engagement.

  • Contacts and visits interested clients and potential clients in the company’s products while addressing any client questions and concerns.

  • Interfaces and interacts with patients up to 50% of the time to support effective product use and positive patient outcomes.

Territory Management & Clinical Support

  • Exercises a high degree of autonomy in defining technical and commercial priorities within the territory to achieve sales and operational objectives.

  • Ensures prompt follow-up of sales leads, investigation of complaints, and timely completion and filing of standard reports.

  • Coordinates implanting schedules of aligned Territory Managers and Clinical Specialists to ensure effective case support

  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by effectively managing consigned inventory used in the territory.

  • Supports patient education in collaboration with care teams by reinforcing therapy expectations, long-term outcomes, and appropriate follow-up protocols.

  • Maintain clinical and technical expertise to serve as a trusted resource for procedural best practices and therapy optimization.

  • Provide in-procedure clinical support, including case coverage, programming, and troubleshooting, while guiding physicians and clinical teams to optimize therapy outcomes.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Collects and studies information about new and existing products and monitors competitor sales, prices and products to provide insights that support strategic planning.

  • Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities, account penetration gaps, and competitive vulnerabilities.

  • Supervisory Leadership & Performance Management

  • Provide direct supervisory leadership for assigned employees (Clinical Specialists, Sales Reps), encompassing hiring, performance management, coaching, development planning, and accountability to individual and team objectives.

  • Establish performance expectations, execute regular field observations, and deliver structured feedback to drive continuous skill development and productivity.

  • Exercise first-line financial and compliance oversight through expense approvals and monitoring adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.

Education & Training

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in Neuromodulation

  • Minimum 6 years of sales experience in medical devices

  • Ability and willingness to travel within assigned area on a regular basis (% of travel varies by area).

  • Capable and willing to work an unpredictable schedule that may change on short notice.

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels and to large groups within and outside the organization.

  • Capable of managing multiple projects and accustomed to tight deadlines.

  • Prefer candidates with demonstrated leadership capabilities.

The base pay for this position is $86,700.00 – $173,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
