Annual MetOx International Futures Invitational An Exclusive On-Site Experience for PhD and Master's Candidates Apply to be selected for the second annual MetOx International Futures Invitational, a one-of-a-kind opportunity to showcase your research, interview for full-time opportunities at MetOx International, and explore how advanced science and engineering are shaping the future of superconductivity. At MetOx International, we're pioneering the next era of energy security and abundance through breakthrough superconducting technology. We are a Houston-based startup transforming the future of energy and computing through advanced high-temperature superconducting (HTS) wire. We are scaling production of next-generation superconducting wire using metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD), physical vapor deposition (PVD), and electrochemistry. Our work spans the frontiers of materials science, plasma physics, thin-film engineering, equipment engineering, process automation, controls, and data science, all grounded in deep first-principles thinking. We're not just building better materials. We're building the backbone of the next energy revolution. About the Event Following the success of our inaugural Futures Invitational, we're bringing the event back for a second year. The Second Annual MetOx International Futures Invitational will bring a select group of exceptional students and recent graduates from across the country to our Houston headquarters for an immersive, two-day technical and recruiting experience. January 26–27, 2027 | MetOx International Headquarters | Houston, Texas This application-only, invitation-only event is designed for PhD and Master's candidates interested in launching their careers at MetOx International. Participants will be considered for full-time, Houston-based opportunities with our technical teams. During this all-expenses-paid experience, you'll:
- Tour our Houston facility and advanced manufacturing operations
- Present your thesis, capstone, or other technical research to MetOx International leadership
- Interview for full-time, Houston-based roles across our technical organization
- Engage with the leaders and teams working to scale HTS technology from advanced R&D into high-volume manufacturing
- Connect with other outstanding graduate researchers from leading programs across the country
This is not a career fair. It's a selective technical recruiting experience designed to connect exceptional graduate talent with opportunities to build their careers at MetOx International. Who You Are You're a newly minted or soon-to-be PhD or Master's graduate looking to apply your technical expertise to complex, real-world challenges in advanced manufacturing. Your background may include materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, plasma or thermal processes, thin-film deposition, equipment design, controls and automation, data science, or advanced manufacturing. We are also particularly interested in candidates from adjacent technology fields, including the semiconductor industry, whose experience and technical foundation can translate to the challenges of scaling superconducting technology. Experience with MOCVD, PVD, CVD, ALD, or related deposition technologies is highly relevant, but it is not the only path to MetOx International. Whether your expertise is in materials, process, equipment, controls, or data, you're excited by the opportunity to connect disciplines and help move breakthrough technology from the lab to scalable manufacturing.
