Job Description

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving two primary markets - passenger vehicle and commercial truck - Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for specific production lines and/or customer products with regard to overall quality requirements and improvements.

Coordination of assigned APQP projects and the development and maintenance of process improvement documentation including Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams PMFEA's, Work Instructions, Inspection Instructions, and others as needed

Ability to use quality tools such as Pareto Analysis, SPC, Capability Studies, Poka-Yoke, and Cost of Quality Analysis to reduce defects and waste.

Prevention and resolution of customer concerns using problem solving including 8D, A3, 3L5W, and other problem solving methodologies as required

Ability to work in a team environment and foster continuous improvement in all aspects of the plant operations.

Provide guidance as needed: Layout, Gage Calibration, Floor Inspections/Audits, Quality Checks, etc.

Prepare periodic reports and other data for presentations to managers and/or plant personnel.

Facilitation of Customer PPAP submission.

Review Customer systems for non-conformances.

Trace and review status of engineering deviations and change requests.

Oversee engineering deviations and engineering changes requiring customer and internal approvals and follow through with completion of changes in a timely manner.

Create and update quality documents as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or an equivalent field preferred

3+ years experience in Quality or related field preferably in automotive industry working for a Tier 1 supplier

Strong personal computer skills including Microsoft Office and various statistical software packages.

Manufacturing experience - preferably in automotive industry working for a Tier 1 supplier.

Strong communication skills both written and verbal, organizational skills, and math skills

Skills

ASQ CQE preferred

Work off-shifts periodically to resolve specific issues and problems.

Strong understanding of products and production processes

The ability to deal with multiple priorities and deal with stressful situations.

Experience with: PPAP, PFMEA. APQP, GD&T, Gage R&R, SPC, IATF 16949 , Internal Auditing

IATF 16949 External and/or Internal Auditor certification preferred
