Location Description
The Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania facility proudly produces iconic pet food brands like 9Lives®, Gravy Train®, and Kibbles 'n Bits®. This location also features an on-site Distribution Center, ensuring efficient delivery of products to customers.
Bloomsburg is home to Bloomsburg University, a municipal airport, and a landmark Town Park offering acres of recreational activities. The town also hosts one of the largest and longest-running fairs in the country. With so much to do and see, Bloomsburg is a great place to live, work, and play!
Responsibilities
The HR Business Partner is a local leadership resource who helps the Bloomsburg site maintain a ready, engaged workforce. In this role, you will partner closely with Plant Operations and Distribution Center leaders to translate people strategies into action through coaching, influence, and practical HR support.
You will contribute to site-wide business objectives while strengthening employee capability, engagement, safety, performance, and labor relations. The role also supports food safety, quality, plant safety, and environmental practices in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted partner to Plant Operations and Distribution Center leaders, helping managers build employee capability and strengthen organizational performance.
-
Advance a culture of engagement, safety, and performance by reinforcing clear goals, timely feedback, and company values.
-
Drive and support organizational change involving structures, processes, and culture in partnership with HR Centers of Excellence.
-
Provide feedback to HR leaders and specialist teams to improve implementation and use of HR tools and programs.
-
Partner with Operations and Distribution Center leaders on employee relations matters while building manager capability to address concerns effectively.
-
Lead local talent processes, including interviewing, onboarding, development, and separations, in collaboration with HR colleagues.
-
Support HR administration, including hourly payroll processing and Kronos data entry and reporting.
-
Help reduce business risk by strengthening management understanding of employment law, diversity, harassment prevention, and interviewing practices.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
-
Maintain constructive labor relations by partnering with union leadership and employees and coordinating grievance administration and resolution with corporate Labor Relations resources.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Required Qualifications

At least 5 years of progressive human resources experience.

Experience using multiple human capital management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience working in a union environment.
-
Human resources experience in a manufacturing, distribution, corporate, or retail environment.
-
Knowledge of HR processes and systems, including applicant tracking, talent management, change management, benefits, payroll, time and attendance, performance management, and compensation.

Project management experience.

Proficiency with Kronos, Microsoft Office, and project management tools.
