  • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education

  • Must be licensed in the State of Arkansas to practice Athletic Training. CPR certified.

  • Experience

  • Sound clinical skills and demonstrated good judgment. Ability to problem-solve and plan effectively. Effective oral and written communication skills. Basic computer skills.

  • Physical

  • This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information.

  • Requires physical strength to perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to work required schedule. Hearing within normal range. Frequent sitting, stooping, standing, walking, bending, pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds, and carrying up to 35 pounds, and lifting up to 100 pounds.

  • JOB SUMMARY

  • The Athletic Trainer facilitates the management and provision of care of injuries to a physically active person as defined in the state practice act with the direction of a licensed physician. The term includes the rendering of emergency care, development of injury prevention programs, and providing appropriate preventative devices for the physically active person. The term also includes the assessment, management, treatment, and referral of the physically active person whose conditions are within the professional preparation and education of a certified athletic trainer. The term also includes the use of modalities such as mechanical stimulation, heat, cold, light, air, water, electricity, sound, massage and the use of therapeutic exercises, reconditioning exercises, and fitness programs. Communicates effectively.
