Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations and deliver reliable financial insight for a Senior Accountant in Greensboro, North Carolina. This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and preparing analyses that help guide sound business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, works independently with minimal oversight, and communicates clearly across departments.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee general ledger activity by reviewing balances, investigating variances, and completing detailed reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

• Assist with month-end close tasks, including preparation of schedules and supporting reconciliations for cash, accruals, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts.

• Prepare and post journal entries that properly reflect operational and financial activity within the accounting system.

• Develop financial reports and analytical summaries for management to support departmental review and decision-making.

• Review vendor payment activity and cash disbursement records to confirm completeness, accuracy, and appropriate accounting treatment.

• Support special assignments and ad hoc projects as business needs arise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis.

• Strong background in month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation.

• Experience handling bank reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, depreciation activity, and inventory analysis.

• Advanced Excel skills and strong overall computer proficiency.

• Working knowledge of accounting records, supporting documentation, and financial controls.
