Blend and deburrs, grinds, files, or sands surfaces of metal parts

Job Summary

  • Read, interpret, and follow planning, work orders, blueprints or mylars and other engineering data.

  • Examines surface of metal to detect defects such as dents, scratches, burrs or breaks in metal.

  • Prepares surface of part and edges to specified finish.

  • Polishes metal surface.

  • Inspects own work.

  • Scribe parts and then blend to the scribe lines.

  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred.

  • Ability to operate a forklift.

  • Prior use of air tools and measuring instruments is preferred.

  • Read and understand internal procedures and policies.

  • Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions.

  • Active Listener

  • Detail oriented

  • Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.

  • Basic Computer Skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistance.

Required Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma; previous manufacturing experience preferred.
