About KTVF:

Join our team as a Broadcast Control Technician (also known as a Master Control Operator), where you will be responsible for the technical 'mission control' of our on-air and digital channels. While we provide training, this position requires an advanced comfort level with computers, multitasking, and following strict protocols.

Job Summary/Description:

The Broadcast Control Technician (Master Control Operator) ensures TV programming and commercials air smoothly and accurately.

Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Active Listening and Monitoring: Watch screens and computer systems to ensure programming and ads run on time, without interruption.
  • Review and Look Ahead: Check upcoming schedules for missing files and timing errors in the logs and correct them before going on-air.
  • Follow Standard Procedures: Follow daily schedules closely and execute backup plans quickly whenever technical issues pop up.
  • Pass the Baton: Leave clear notes detailing any potential issues to ensure a clean handoff to the next operator

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer literacy (navigating files, web browsing, and using Microsoft Outlook for email).
  • Eagerness and ability to learn new software and specialized systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow step-by-step procedures calmly under pressure.
  • No prior industry experience required (on-the-job training provided).
