Job Duties

Start Date: 12/01/2026

End Date: 09/30/2027

Work hours (Rotation):

56 hours/week, Monday - Sunday, 8 hours/day, 6:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M.

Rotation Schedule:

40-56 hours/week: workers will be on a mandatory rotation to work two consecutive weeks Mon.-Fri. 40 hours/week 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the third week Mon.-Sun. 56 hours/week 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Job Duties:

Workers will assist with breeding and farrowing during peak pork production season and helping baby pigs survive birth. Other duties that will need to be done are performing animal health checks and power washing animal pens and buildings to maintain biosafety protocols and prevent diseases spreading throughout farm. Routine maintenance will need to be done on power washing equipment used.

Brown, Chippewa, Cottonwood, Faribault, Jackson, Lac Qui Parle, Lyon, Martin, Nobles, Redwood, Renville, Waseca, Watonwan, Yellow Medicine

Minimum Education Required

None. No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Must have 6 months experience.

Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Must be available every third Saturday and Sunday, per the mandatory rotation schedule.

Extensive pushing and pulling is required.

Extensive walking or sitting is required.

Frequent stooping or bending over is required.

Repetitive movements are required.

Job Benefits

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
