To be considered for this position you must complete the state application and attach all required documents through the Montana State Careers site at* www.statecareers.mt.gov.* The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Division. The SDMI Waiver Supervisor in the Treatment Bureau is responsible for the management and implementation of the Severe and Disabling Mental Illness (SDMI) home and community-based waiver programs, including making determinations about relevance and validity, and assessing options, alternatives, and solutions that are directed toward improving health outcomes for adults with severe disabling mental illness and their families. Responsibilities include supervision, oversight, consultation, management of the SDMI Waiver: federal application and reporting; administrative rules; contracts; providing supervision to BHDD staff who are managing the home and community based waiver programs; and providing support to contracted agencies, and providers. This position ensures compliance with multiple complex federal and state regulations, and establishes goals, objectives, and priorities for program activity. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * Extensive knowledge of program management and organizational principles. * Extensive knowledge of quality assurance and quality improvement principles, practices, and review processes. * Extensive knowledge of federal and state program policies, mandates, directives, and intents. * Knowledge of federal and state budgeting processes. * Thorough knowledge of concepts and practices of home and community-based behavioral health care, member directed care, issues surrounding freedom of choice, social, psycho social and community impacts on members and their families. * Broad-based knowledge of grant and contract management practices. * Knowledge of personnel management and supervision. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or health or health-related fields. o Four years of professional experience. o One year of supervisory experience managing professional staff. o Experience with Montana Medicaid system and grant/contract management preferred. o Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
