Diagnostic Technologist Advanced

Full-Time | Day Shift

Typical Schedule: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Requirements: Rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage as scheduled

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus

Qualified applicants are eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a two-year work commitment.

As a Diagnostic Technologist Advanced, you'll perform a broad range of imaging procedures independently while applying critical thinking, technical expertise, and clinical judgment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

What You'll Do

  • Perform advanced imaging procedures with a high level of independence and technical proficiency.

  • Assist with quality assurance initiatives, regulatory testing, research projects, and technical advancements within the department.

  • Perform all responsibilities associated with the Diagnostic Technologist I role.

  • Operate and demonstrate competency with specialty imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, operating room procedures, and other advanced applications.

  • Analyze imaging data promptly and accurately to support efficient patient care.

  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and laboratory draw functions when applicable.

  • Support and monitor quality control activities to ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.

  • Deliver exceptional patient care using the latest imaging protocols, technology, and best practices.

  • Function independently across various shifts and settings, including on-call responsibilities and satellite locations when needed.

  • Collaborate with radiologists on protocol development and imaging optimization initiatives.

  • Participate in system-wide standardization and continuous improvement projects.

  • Assist with training, mentoring, and developing staff and student technologists.

Diagnostic Technologist Advanced:

  • Graduate of an ARRT-accredited School of Radiologic Technology.

  • ARRT certification in Radiography required.

  • Minimum of two years of diagnostic imaging experience required.

  • Current employees seeking promotion must have received a Strong, Solid, or Good rating on their most recent performance review.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of patient care, image quality, and safety.

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

Licensure, Certifications & Clearances

Required:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in Radiography.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

  • CPR certification must meet American Heart Association (AHA) standards and include both didactic and hands-on skills demonstration within 30 days of hire.

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting clearance with renewal.

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance with renewal.

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Check with renewal.

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.

Additional Requirement:

  • Radiography licensure is required for positions located in Maryland.

DiagnosticTechnologist:

Salary Range: $31.64 - $43.30 per hour

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved School of Radiologic Technology, or verification from an ARRT-approved program confirming successful completion and a scheduled graduation date.

  • Candidates hired prior to graduation may begin employment under the indirect supervision of an ARRT-certified Diagnostic Technologist until degree completion is verified.

  • Must demonstrate strong patient care skills, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

  • Technologists hired prior to obtaining ARRT certification are not eligible to work in an outpatient setting until registry certification has been obtained.

Licensure, Certifications & Clearances

Required:

  • ARRT Registry Eligible as a Radiologic Technologist at the time of hire.

  • Must obtain ARRT Radiography certification within six (6) months of hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification as required by department standards.

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance with renewal.

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Check with renewal.

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
