Summary:

As a Realtime Engine Technology engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing real-time interactive software that powers our immersive experiences, enabling seamless and intuitive interactions between users and virtual environments. By joining our team, you'll contribute to building the next generation of immersive computing experiences.

Required Skills:

Software Engineer, Realtime Engine Technology - Reality Labs Responsibilities:

  1. Architect efficient and reusable systems that drive complex realtime interactive software

  2. Build technologies that empower developers to create compelling experiences

  3. Optimize and debug real-time systems to ensure smooth performance

  4. Influence design, drive engineering implementation and enhance the quality of new and existing technologies

  5. Lead collaboration with multi-functional teams to achieve successful product outcomes

  6. Utilize your specialized expertise to mentor, educate, and up-level engineers you collaborate with across teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  3. 6+ years of software development experience in industry settings or a PhD with 4+ years of experience

  4. Experience with C++ and/or C

  5. Experience in communicating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, collaborators, and clients at different levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience building engine-level systems (e.g., Rendering, Collision, Physics, Input Processing, Audio, Animation, Networking, etc.) for 3D real-time interactive engines (Unity 3D, Unreal, Frostbite, or other/proprietary)

  2. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

  4. Experience building for multiple hardware platforms (e.g., PC, Console, MR/VR, Cloud, mobile)

  5. In-depth understanding of 3D math, linear algebra, and physics

  6. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

  7. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

  8. Experience with performance optimization of real-time applications (CPU, GPU, Memory, etc.)

Public Compensation:

$183,997/year to $257,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
