Position: Peer Support Specialist

Division: Youth Services

Program: YHDP

General Overview: Provides peer support, advocacy, and social engagement to young adults in the YHDP Transitional Housing and Rapid Re-Housing programs. Uses lived experience with homelessness to assist residents with service navigation, independent living skills, conflict resolution, and housing stability. Supports admissions, documentation, community activities, safety, and maintaining a positive living environment. Completes required training, communication, and on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred. Lived experience with homelessness required; experience with transition-age or homeless youth preferred. Must have strong communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, and computer skills. Valid NYS Driver’s License.

Hours: Part-Time

Salary Range: $16.00 - $16.83, hourly.
