2027 Product Engineering Internship ATI Specialty Materials

Locations: Monroe, NC

Program Duration: 10 Weeks | Summer 2027

Target Students: Rising Juniors & Seniors Materials Science, Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering

Transform Alloys Into Performance Intern in Product Engineering at ATI

At ATI, we engineer specialty materials that power the next generation of aircraft, spacecraft, surgical implants, and energy systems. As a Product Engineering Intern, you'll be part of the team that transforms alloy designs into manufacturable, high-performance products. Youll apply your materials science or mechanical engineering background to optimize microstructure, improve product specifications, and enhance process capability in real production environments.

What Youll Work On

Depending on your project assignment, you may:

  • Optimizing Boeing shapes processing parameters to support process performance and consistency.

  • Standardizing reheat points for nickel (Ni) shapes and rectangles.

  • Supporting process improvement activities related to materials processing and metallurgy.

  • Applying materials science and metallurgical concepts to hands-on manufacturing projects.

  • What Youll Gain
