Full job description

Job Title: Process Engineer

Location: Manheim, PA

Type: Full-time

Work Model: Onsite

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for assembly and production operations, including electrical/electronic assemblies, valves, panels, inverters, and other HVAC related products, with emphasis on safety, quality, productivity, capacity, delivery, and cost

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, PDCA, root cause analysis, time studies, line balancing, and other structured problem-solving methods to improve process capability, efficiency, reliability, and reduce scrap, rework, cycle time, and labor requirements

  • Develop and improve production lines, work cells, workstations, material flow, tooling, fixtures, and work methods to support efficient, ergonomic, and repeatable manufacturing operations, including appropriate process controls and error-proofing

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process, equipment, tooling, and product-related issues; identify root causes and implement practical, sustainable solutions to restore and improve production performance

  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and production transfers, including development and validation of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, documentation, and production requirements

  • Lead manufacturing engineering projects, including equipment and tooling projects, process improvements, production localization, and capital investments; coordinate internal resources and external suppliers through implementation and startup

  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing performance using KPIs such as safety, quality, delivery, productivity, capacity, OEE, scrap, downtime, and cycle time; identify performance gaps, establish corrective actions, and track results through the daily PDCA process

  • Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and operators to resolve manufacturing issues, implement corrective actions, and sustain process improvements

  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process standards, standard work, manufacturing procedures, process flows, and other documentation required to establish and sustain manufacturing processes

  • Support manufacturing systems and data accuracy, including ERP, MES, BOMs, routings, work centers, production standards, and other manufacturing information

  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies, equipment, tooling, and automation that improve quality, productivity, capacity, ergonomics, or cost

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience will be considered

  • 3+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience, preferably in a high-mix, discrete manufacturing environment

  • Experience developing, improving, and troubleshooting manufacturing or assembly processes

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, root cause analysis, time studies, line balancing, and process optimization

  • Experience with manufacturing equipment, tooling, work cells, process layouts, or automation, including installation, commissioning, or troubleshooting preferred

  • Experience with electrical/electronic products, electro-mechanical assemblies, HVAC equipment, or similar industrial products preferred but not required

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, manufacturing data, and engineering software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD preferred

  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, ownership, accountability, problem-solving, and follow-through

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical personnel

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills appropriate for engineering applications, including calculations involving cycle time, capacity, machine utilization, labor requirements, material usage, process capability, and cost

  • Strong engineering judgment and problem-solving ability, capable of identifying root causes and developing practical solutions to complex manufacturing problems

  • Ability to analyze data, evaluate alternatives, and make sound technical decisions

  • Ability to work effectively in situations with limited standardization and develop appropriate processes and controls

  • Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, ASQ, SME, or other relevant manufacturing certifications are a plus
