Road & Rail Services is looking for dependable, safety-minded individuals to join our Wentzville team as Railcar Inspector/Prep associates. This is a hands-on position responsible for inspecting, cleaning, and preparing railcars before they are used to transport vehicles.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Railcar Inspector/Prep associate, your daily responsibilities may include:

Inspect railcars for damage, excessive wear, fatigue, and other potential safety or service concerns.

Safely operate, inspect, open, and secure railcar end doors.

Prepare railcars for loading and transportation according to company and customer requirements.

Remove dirt, debris, and other materials that could potentially damage vehicles during loading or transportation.

Use backpack blowers, scrapers, hand tools, and other equipment to clean and prepare railcars.

Identify repair needs and determine when repairs should be reported or completed by authorized Road & Rail Services personnel.

Follow all company, customer, and railroad safety procedures while working around rail equipment.

Inspect and care for assigned tools and equipment.

Maintain clean and organized work areas.

Assist coworkers and perform additional duties as needed to support daily operations.

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates should be dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable performing physical work in an outdoor railroad environment.

Requirements include:

Valid state-issued driver's license.

Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Strong attention to detail when inspecting and preparing equipment.

Willingness to learn new responsibilities and follow established procedures.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Commitment to following all safety rules and wearing required PPE.

Previous railroad experience is helpful but is not required for candidates who are willing to learn and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
