Full job description

Kikoff: The Fintech Powering Financial Security at Scale Kikoff is a profitable, pre-IPO fintech company on a mission to empower everyone to achieve financial security. With record revenue growth in 2025 and a unicorn valuation, we've built a suite of products that help millions of people build credit, access liquidity, and save money. We're scaling fast. Join us if you want to build something meaningful and help millions of people move forward financially.

Why Kikoff:

This is a consumer fintech startup, and you will be working with serial entrepreneurs who have built strong consumer brands and innovative products. We value extreme ownership, clear communication, a strong sense of craftsmanship, and the desire to create lasting work and work relationships. Yes, you can build an exciting business AND have real-life real-customer impact.

About the Role

Compliance at Kikoff has one job above all others: make sure we do what we say. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you are how we know. This is a hands-on testing role supporting new products and growing volumes. You independently test whether the controls behind our consumer financial services and our BSA/AML program work in practice, and whether customers get the outcomes our obligations require.

Automation is how we keep pace: you will help build and run the AI tooling that handles routine testing, with human oversight built in, so your judgment goes where it matters most. Findings are the product of this role. We expect them to hold up, and we back them when they do.

What You'll Do

  • Execute risk-based testing and monitoring reviews from scoping through remediation validation, including population definition, sampling, evidence, analysis, findings, and reporting.

  • Perform second-line BSA/AML and sanctions monitoring, investigate what comes through, and support required regulatory reporting.

  • Help build and run AI tooling with Legal, Compliance, and Engineering that sorts monitoring exceptions and handles routine tests, with human oversight built into the process: test it before relying on it, learn what it misses, and document how it is used so we can show an examiner or our bank partner how it is controlled.

  • Translate regulatory obligations and customer-outcome risks into precise control questions, test procedures, and failure criteria, testing both whether a control is designed correctly and whether it operates that way in production.

  • Test the controls across fair lending, FCRA and credit furnishing, UDAAP, Reg E, Reg Z, ECOA/Reg B, servicing and collections, privacy, and marketing review.

  • Produce testing and monitoring reporting for Compliance leadership, our bank partner, and governance committees, and support regulatory examinations, bank partner reviews, and internal audit.

  • Contribute to our testing methodology, templates, and quality standards as coverage expands with the business.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years in compliance testing, monitoring, internal audit, or regulatory assurance in consumer financial services, at a bank, fintech, lender, servicer, or consultancy.

  • You can turn a broad risk into a bounded, defensible review: a clear objective, population, evidence plan, test procedures, and a conclusion whose limits you state. You pull and reconcile your own populations, using SQL or a BI tool.

  • Working knowledge of consumer protection regulation, with real depth in a few: UDAAP, FCRA, fair lending, Reg E, and Reg Z.

  • BSA/AML and sanctions experience, including escalation review and investigation. You can write a narrative that a reviewer can follow without asking questions.

  • You use AI in your own work and can say where you would trust it and where you would not.

Nice to Have

  • Experience applying AI to real testing work, such as triaging exceptions, classifying populations, or automating a recurring test.

  • Regulatory examination, bank partner review, or internal audit experience.

  • Credit-building, credit reporting, lending, or earned wage access product experience.

  • CRCM, CAMS, CIA, CISA, CPA, or a comparable qualification, and hands-on use of tools such as Amplitude, Jira, Notion, or a GRC platform.

If you meet most of this, we'd like to hear from you.

Compensation

Base salary is location-based and will be determined by factors including market location, experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to competitive cash compensation, this role is eligible for equity and a comprehensive benefits package. Base Range $100,000—$150,000 USD
