TheDirector of Information Technologyleads the company’s IT strategy, operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, business applications, and IT support functions. This role ensures technology supports business objectives while maintaining a secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective environment.

The Director serves as a strategic partner to executive and business leaders. The position also leads the IT team and technology partners, manages IT budgets and projects, and ensures appropriate policies, controls, and business continuity plans are in place.

Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Business Partnership

  • Partner with leadership to identify technology solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and business performance.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions based on business value, cost, risk, and implementation requirements.

Cybersecurity & Information Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain the company’s cybersecurity strategy and information security practices.

  • Monitor threats, vulnerabilities, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Oversee security policies, access controls, monitoring, endpoint and data protection, and employee cybersecurity awareness.

  • Lead cybersecurity incident response and coordinate internal and external resources.

  • Manage technology and cybersecurity risks associated with third-party providers.

Infrastructure, Systems & Business Applications

  • Oversee IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, cloud environments, telecommunications, and end-user technology.

  • Oversee ERP, CRM, business applications, integrations, and other critical technology platforms.

  • Maintain appropriate documentation of the technology environment, systems, policies, and procedures.

IT Projects & Technology Implementation

  • Establish and manage an IT project portfolio aligned with company priorities.

  • Oversee technology projects from planning and budgeting through implementation, testing, training, and support.

  • Ensure projects are properly scoped, resourced, prioritized, and delivered in alignment with business objectives.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

  • Develop and maintain IT business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

  • Ensure appropriate backup, recovery, redundancy, and recovery capabilities for critical systems and data.

  • Lead technology response and recovery efforts following significant outages, cybersecurity incidents, or business disruptions.

IT Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the IT team, establishing clear objectives, accountability, and performance expectations.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer service.

Vendor & Managed Service Provider Management

  • Provide strategic oversight of managed service providers and technology vendors.

  • Manage vendor relationships, service levels, contracts, performance, cybersecurity practices, and costs.

  • Identify opportunities to improve service and maximize technology investments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in an IT leadership or management role.

  • Proven experience developing and executing IT strategy in a business environment.

  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, ERP systems, networks, and cloud technologies.

  • Experience managing IT projects, budgets, vendors, and managed service providers.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or similarly operationally complex environment.

  • Experience with ERP and CRM platforms.

  • Experience with AWS, Salesforce, or similar cloud-based platforms.
