Computer Network Architect**

Employment Term and Type: Regular, Full Time

Required Security Clearance: (Minimum for hire) TS/SCI

Required Education: (Minimum for hire)Master's Degree Engineering or engineering discipline; Computer science or IT discipline; Technical discipline

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years of additional work experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree.

Salary Band: $150,000 - $180,000/annual

Job Description: Apply computer science principles to address technical and operational challenges for a DoD contractor supporting the U.S. Navy and Special Operations Forces. Assess mission needs, user requirements, existing procedures, and system limitations to identify opportunities for automation and improvements to DoD and Intelligence Community systems and networks. Evaluate commercial software for suitability, establish project plans and execution controls, and provide technical leadership and oversight to specialists, scientists, and technicians as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems by applying knowledge of computer science principles in order to implement and improve DoD/IC computer systems and networks.

  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially-available software.

  • Responsible for developing project plans, guidelines, and controls.

  • May act as team or project leader, supervising and advising with respect to the work of other computer specialists, scientists, or technicians.

Required Qualifications

  • Required certification: At least one (1) current professional-level technical certification (excludes intro or associate levels). Applicable vendors/areas include: Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Red Hat Linux; or programming certifications, such as C / C++ Professional Programmer, Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), or Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) App Builder.

  • At least one (1) year of experience as a team leader

Desired Qualifications

  • Multiple of the afore mentioned professional Level Certifications.

Education Requirements

  • Master's Degree Engineering or engineering discipline; Computer science or IT discipline; Technical discipline

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years of additional work experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree.

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods.

  • Must be able to view computer screens for long periods.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly with teams and end-users.
