Full job description

Job Description

The Fiber Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and analyzing outside plant (OSP) fiber facilities and networks. This role supports major fiber build projects by performing detailed reviews of high-level and low-level designs, developing detailed construction-ready designs, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on budget, and in compliance with engineering and regulatory standards. The Fiber Engineer exercises judgment, sets priorities independently, and develops practical solutions within project timelines.

Skills and Requirements

  • Strong experience with outside plant (OSP) fiber design, planning, and construction methodologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in OSP Design, OSP Construction, OSP Planning, and contractor oversight.
  • Understanding of outside plant build, installation, testing, and maintenance practices.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to evaluate multiple factors and develop creative, practical engineering solutions.
  • Experience with budgeting, job costing, and financial tracking for construction projects.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • IQGeo experience
