Full job description
Profound is the fastest-growing AI marketing platform, used by 15% of the Fortune 500 including Comcast, Estée Lauder, and Walmart, and innovators like Ramp, MongoDB, and Figma. It is where marketing teams do the work: research, briefs, content, campaigns, reporting, all in one place, alongside agents that carry the load with them. Built on 2B+ real user prompts and growing, Profound’s data shows you what people ask AI and what the models say back. Profound's AI Marketer joins that data with deep context about our customers to find the opportunities worth acting on, and then puts agents to work: automating reporting, drafting content, auditing pages for readability, running competitive research. It measures what works and gets better every day. Profound is an AI-native company, and we want the way we operate internally to reflect that. We're hiring a Member of Technical Staff to build the applications, integrations, and AI-powered workflows that help teams across Profound get work done with less manual effort. You'll work directly with partners across GTM, Data, Security, and Operations to understand how they work and turn their needs into useful products. Your work will span internal applications, backend services, and automation. You'll own projects from understanding the problem through shipping and ongoing operation, using AI where it improves the outcome and keeping people in control of decisions that need their judgment. What you'll do
-
Design and build internal applications, integrations, and automations using TypeScript and Python
-
Work directly with internal teams to understand their workflows, identify repetitive work, and build tools that solve meaningful problems
-
Build AI-powered workflows using LLMs and agents, with evaluation, human review, and fallback paths that make them dependable in production
-
Develop systems for workflows such as lead routing, data enrichment, and operational processes, connecting the tools and data teams use every day
-
Turn prototypes and existing automations into reliable, maintainable systems with testing, monitoring, access controls, and clear ownership
-
Own projects from design and implementation through rollout, user feedback, and ongoing support
-
Make practical build, buy, and reuse decisions, improving existing systems and reducing duplication where it makes sense
-
Investigate failures across application code, integrations, and data flows, and improve reliability, performance, and cost
Who you are
-
At least 2 years of software engineering experience building and operating production applications, services, or integrations
-
Strong in TypeScript and Python, with experience writing maintainable, tested production code in both
-
Comfortable working directly with technical and non-technical users to turn ambiguous needs into useful products
-
Curious about how AI can change the way teams work, with practical judgment about where it adds value and where deterministic workflows or human review are needed
-
Able to follow a problem across applications, APIs, databases, and infrastructure and see it through to resolution
-
Thoughtful about reliability, security, data access, and the long-term maintenance of systems people depend on
-
Comfortable taking ownership, making tradeoffs, and communicating progress and decisions clearly
Nice to have
-
Experience building internal tools, business applications, or automation for GTM and Operations teams
-
Experience shipping LLM-powered applications or agent workflows, including evaluating their quality and handling failures
-
Experience with Rust
-
Experience with cloud infrastructure, background jobs, and data pipelines
-
Experience integrating tools such as Salesforce, Snowflake, and Slack
