Summary

These vacancies are located in the Delegated Examining Office (DEO) Call Center under the Human Resources Operations Office (HROO), Workforce Management and Consulting (WMC).

Duties

The major duties of the HR Assistant (Recruitment and Placement/OA) position within the Delegated Examining Office (DEO) Call Center include, but are not limited to: Assisting applicants with questions and application processes and procedures. Assisting with recruitment and placement processes and procedures. Utilizing USA Staffing to assist with questions regarding application processes, status of application, and other information. Preparing and generating a variety of automated reports. Creating spreadsheets and tracking information using Excel or equivalent. Interpreting policies, procedures, regulations and guidelines. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Compressed/Flexible: May be available at supervisor's discretion Telework: This position may be authorized for ad hoc telework. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this job To be considered for this position, you must complete all required steps in the process. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/14/2026. You may qualify for the GS-05 Human Resources Assistant (Recruitment and Placement/OA) based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-04) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Routing inquiries concerning the application process Using office software programs Performing routine administrative tasks following established office procedures; OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have four years above high school. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education to meet the total experience requirements. For GS-5, only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. You may qualify for the GS-06 Human Resources Assistant (Recruitment and Placement/OA) based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-05) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Creating and maintaining correspondence or other files Providing information to customers concerning the application process Utilizing computer software to prepare a variety of correspondence, letters, forms, and reports Communicating with individuals from a variety of backgrounds by phone and email Working with time sensitive information and keeping confidential information safeguarded PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT: This is an office automation position and in addition to the specialized experience listed above, you must be apply to type 40 words per minute or more.
