2027 Operations Support Internship ATI Specialty Materials

Location: Monroe, NC Bakers South

Program Duration: MayAugust 2027 | 10-Week Summer Internship

ATI is seeking an Operations Support Intern for our Summer 2027 Internship Program at our Bakers South location in Monroe, NC. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations through continuous improvement, process standardization, and efficiency-focused projects.

As an intern at ATI, youll gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced professionals, and collaborate with teams working to improve manufacturing operations. Your projects and development will be guided by an established ATI professional in your area of interest.

What Youll Do

Depending on your project assignment, you may:

• Develop and support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects that improve operational performance and processes.

• Participate in 5S initiatives focused on Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.

• Evaluate current operational practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend alternative approaches to improve efficiency.

• Help standardize processes and reduce variation across shifts, work areas, or departments.

• Support the development and implementation of improvements to Mill Instructions and Operational Procedures.

• Assist with projects that improve the organization, efficiency, and effectiveness of manufacturing operations.

• Work with Operations and cross-functional teams to support problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
