Full job description

About Laminar Laminar helps enterprise teams unlock the power of AI inside their existing systems. We partner with leading companies to solve complex operational challenges with deep technical expertise and world-class execution. We are a well-funded, ex-Google led early-stage company based in San Francisco, with Laminarians across California, the US, UK, Spain, and India. The role Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) are Laminar's engineers in the field. They embed with a customer's team, learn how their business really runs, and ship working software on their systems. They scope the problem, build the solution with our platform, and get it into production. What is learned in the field shapes our product roadmap. This is a Member of Technical Staff / Engineering role which works directly with the founders and our core engineering team. What you'll do

  • Embed with enterprise customers to understand their workflows, data, and pain points.

  • Design and build AI-powered solutions on Salesforce and adjacent business systems.

  • Take projects from discovery to production, including integrations, data migration, and deployment.

  • Configure and extend Laminar's platform for each customer's environment.

  • Be the trusted technical partner for customer engineering and business stakeholders.

  • Run demos, workshops, and technical deep dives with customer teams.

  • Turn field insights into product feedback and reusable components for the core team.

  • Debug hard production issues across systems you did not build.

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience, with time spent in customer-facing or consulting work.

  • Strong hands-on Salesforce development: Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and the Salesforce data model.

  • Solid skills in at least one general-purpose language, such as Python, TypeScript, or Java.

  • Experience with APIs, integrations, and enterprise data.

  • Comfort working with LLMs and AI tools in real production settings.

  • Clear communication with both engineers and business leaders.

  • High ownership. You are comfortable with ambiguity and move fast without waiting for direction.

Nice to have

  • Salesforce certifications, such as Platform Developer II or Application Architect.

  • Experience at a Salesforce SI, consultancy, or ISV.

  • Background in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries.

  • Experience building agents or LLM workflows (Agentforce, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar).

  • Prior startup experience.

Why Laminar

  • Work on real enterprise problems with immediate customer impact.

  • Small, senior team. Your work is visible from day one.

  • Direct access to the founders.

  • Remote-first with a San Francisco hub.

Logistics

  • Location: Remote (US preferred). San Francisco a plus.

  • Travel: Up to 25% for customer onsites.

  • Employment type: Full time. Contract engagements also considered.
