Summary
Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver reflects how we make each other stronger. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. The diversity of our people and their thinking inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you'll do more than join something — you'll do something.
Retail and Marcom Engineering, an IS&T team, builds and operates the systems and experiences that connect Apple's products with its customers. The team owns the technology behind both Apple's online and physical stores and drives the interactive marketing experiences and tools that keep creative operations moving. Together, those functions deliver the technology behind every product story Apple tells and every purchase a customer makes.
Apple's Publishing Platforms team is vital to that mission, powering the content infrastructure behind every retail and marketing experience we ship. Our platforms and products span Product Information Management, Content Management, and Digital Asset Management systems — the multi-tenant backbone that lets content move from creation to every customer touchpoint at Apple. We're looking for a senior engineering program leader to own this platform end to end: shaping where it goes next and running the execution discipline that gets it there, with a team of managers and ICs each driving a capability area.
Description
This role owns the engineering program function for Apple’s publishing platform, partnering directly with senior engineering and business leadership to shape strategic direction while leading a team of program managers and ICs through execution. It is the senior-most engineering program leader on Publishing Systems.
Minimum Qualifications
-
10+ years of experience in engineering program management, including managing a team of program managers
-
Prior experience operating at senior manager level or above in a large-scale technology organization.
-
Proven track record delivering large-scale enterprise technology programs — spanning infrastructure, data systems, retail or sales technology, or AI/ML platforms — with measurable business or operational impact.
-
Experience building, motivating, and leading teams of program managers across multiple concurrent initiatives.
-
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in retail, commerce, or content/publishing systems
-
Demonstrated ability to deliver large cross-functional programs and roadmaps, identify risks, and drive results, ideally with multi-tenant or shared-service platforms serving multiple internal business units
-
Strong technical acumen, able to engage credibly with engineering teams on architecture, system design, and technical trade-offs
-
Skilled at navigating ambiguity, building alignment across competing priorities, and leading teams to successful delivery
-
Effective decision-maker who balances risks and benefits for the overall good of the organization
-
Results-oriented and able to operate with minimal supervision in a cross-functional environment while managing program details and broader dependencies
-
Experience influencing and building trust with partners and senior executive leadership to move programs forward
