Full job description

Sportsman Boats is looking for an experienced Upholstery Manufacturing Manager to lead the daily operations of our upholstery manufacturing department. This hands-on leadership role drives safety, quality, productivity, and on-time production while developing and supporting a strong production team. Our production schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 am-3:45 pm. The schedule can vary depending on production needs.

What You'll Do

  • Lead daily upholstery operations, including sewing, covering, kit building, raw materials, and CNC

  • Plan production, staffing, materials, and resources to meet business and customer demands

  • Monitor productivity, quality, throughput, and on-time delivery while driving continuous improvement

  • Identify root causes of production challenges and implement solutions that improve efficiency and reduce waste

  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment

  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, recognition, and corrective action

  • Build an engaged, accountable, and collaborative production team

  • Partner with other departments to support manufacturing goals and priorities

  • Champion Sportsman Boats' core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Quality, and Innovation

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong knowledge of upholstery manufacturing, CNC operations, production scheduling, and material management

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a production team

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, productivity, workflow, and continuous improvement

  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Strong people-management and conflict-resolution skills

  • Ability to make sound decisions and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

  • Bilingual Spanish/English

  • Experience in the marine or boat manufacturing industry

  • Experience leading upholstery operations, including sewing, covering, kit building, raw materials, and CNC

  • Experience with lean principles, continuous improvement, AIMSCO, standardized work, or digital work-instruction platforms such as Dozuki
