About the role

We are looking for a Senior Flavorist to join our Sweet and Beverage team. This Senior Flavorist will support several global key accounts and specialize in brown flavor profiles (vanilla, cocoa, coffee) across multiple regional and global accounts.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for Flavor creation projects within America’s region

  • Independently develop flavors in line with business need and in response to customer brief

  • Independently lead projects

  • Proactively work with new ingredients

  • Utilize Kerry technology to deliver unique solutions to project brief

  • Demonstrate creative leadership working with global R&D to maximize the company’s technology

  • Work closely with all EUM within Kerry

  • Lead technical presentation to customers

  • Interact with key customers regionally or globally to understand requirements

  • Responsible for the development of the next generation of flavorists

  • Perform physical, chemical, and organoleptic testing and analysis of flavors

  • Employ thorough knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements for flavors

  • Work with cross functional team to optimize the strengths of Kerry and deliver the best Taste and Nutrition experience for our customers

  • Participate in sensory panels

  • Represent Kerry at industry events to promote the company, network, and scout for talent

Qualifications and skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Life Sciences, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

Technical Experience

  • Minimum 10-15 years of active flavor work on the bench. SFC certification preferred.

  • Strong background in organic chemistry, food chemistry, flavor applications.

  • Good math skills for problem-solving calculations.

  • Strong trouble-shooting skills

  • Strong and discerning sense of smell and taste.

The pay range for this position is $146,800 - $232,450 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition, this position is also eligible to earn a performance-based incentive compensation. Kerry offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, Employee Share Plan, Life, disability, and accident insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
