Job Description Summary
Position Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary finance and analytical partner to Branch, District, and field leadership, helping leaders understand financial performance, operational trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop strong relationships with field partners and proactively identify opportunities where financial analysis can support better business decisions.
- Provide clear, actionable analysis in response to financial and operational questions, helping explain what is happening, why it is happening, and what actions should be considered.
- Conduct financial and business performance reviews, analyzing results, KPIs, pricing performance, and major variances to identify strengths, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support pricing and rate optimization initiatives through analysis of pricing performance, market conditions, customer trends, and competitive intelligence.
- Develop and maintain analytical models, including scenario analyses and test-and-control models, to evaluate business initiatives and identify opportunities to improve performance.
- Build and enhance reporting and analytical tools using Excel, SQL, Power BI, data warehouses, and related platforms.
- Support month-end financial activities, including journal entry requests, income statement reclasses, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Support quarterly and annual field incentive compensation calculations and audits, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, IT, and field leadership to improve reporting, processes, analytical tools, and overall decision-making.
- Perform ad hoc financial and operational analyses, including fleet mix impact analysis, new facility impacts, leasehold analysis, pricing initiatives, and other business cases.
- Proactively identify process improvements, performance trends, risks, and business opportunities rather than relying solely on assigned analysis.
- Present financial concepts and analytical findings clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Strong foundation in financial statement analysis, P&L analysis, variance analysis, and financial performance metrics
- Ability to turn financial and operational data into actionable business recommendations, rather than simply producing reports
- Strong Excel skills with experience in SQL and Power BI highly preferred
- Comfortable working directly with field and operational leadership
- Proactive and investigative mindset with a willingness to identify problems and opportunities independently
- Strong communication and presentation skills, particularly when explaining financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of the larger business picture
- Experience with pricing, KPI analysis, operational performance, scenario modeling, or financial analytics is highly valuable
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and take ownership of analysis from identification through recommendation
- Comfortable partnering across Finance, Operations, and IT
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Operations, or a related business discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Approximately 1–3+ years of financial, analytical, or related business experience
- Strong internships may be considered for earlier-career candidates
- Experience involving financial analysis, pricing analysis, operational analytics, or business performance analysis preferred
- Proficiency in Excel required
- Experience with SQL and Power BI strongly preferred
- Exposure to data warehouses, data cubes, pricing analytics, or business intelligence environments is beneficial
- Willingness to travel periodically to develop relationships with field partners and better understand operations
