Academic Instructor

Overview Delaware Valley Job Corps is seeking a dedicated and motivated Academic Instructor to join our team in Callicoon, NY. The Academic Instructor provides academic instruction and individualized support to help students achieve their educational goals, including GED/HSE completion and improved literacy and math skills. This position works closely with Career Technical Training (CTT) instructors to incorporate practical academic skills into career training and support student success. Key Responsibilities Provide academic instruction to help students achieve GED/HSE completion and improve literacy and numeracy skills. Develop individualized achievement plans and academic goals to monitor student progress. Collaborate with CTT instructors to integrate applied academics into career training. Maintain an organized, structured, and positive classroom environment. Mentor, supervise, and encourage students while reinforcing behavioral expectations and Career Success Standards. Monitor student progress and provide individualized guidance and support. Maintain accurate, confidential student records and follow all data integrity policies. Work collaboratively with staff across departments to ensure students receive quality services and support. Meet program performance goals and maintain high standards of professionalism, accountability, and productivity. Communicate effectively, address challenges, and follow through on solutions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree required. Valid in-state teaching certificate or approved waiver required. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience. Valid driver's license. Satisfactory reference check. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Advanced computer skills.
