Description

Process Tech Apprentice, Multiple Openings ($19.50 + applicable shift differential)

As Process Operations Apprentice, the incumbent will embark on a journey to learn and master the operations of extrusion lines under the guidance of experienced supervisors and colleagues. This role is designed for individuals with a keen interest in manufacturing processes and a mechanical aptitude, and eager to develop skills in a hands-on environment. Individual will play a supportive role in ensuring the efficient operation of extrusion lines, contributing to the production of high-quality plastic sheets and rolls.

Essential Functions:

Receive training and assist in the startup, shutdown, and changeovers of all 3 extrusion lines, under the mentorship of experienced operators and shift supervisors.

Contribute to ensuring that extrusion lines are running at optimal efficiency, with a focus on learning and applying troubleshooting skills.

Assist in monitoring the production process to ensure that the output meets or exceeds the set standards ensuring compliance with work instructions and/or Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.

Learn and adhere to safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Ensures compliance with all current company policies.

Develop effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to function efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

Engage in learning opportunities to suggest improvements for manufacturing processes.

Willingness and flexibility to work on various shifts to receive comprehensive training and support production needs.

Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.

Process Technician - Extrusion, Multiple Openings ($24.50 + applicable shift differential)

This position is responsible for operating the extrusion lines independently and efficiently. Assist shift supervisor in operating all production areas. Performs tasks in compliance with Work Instructions to ensure quality and productivity standards are met.

Essential Functions:

Effectively start up, shutdown, and changeover both extrusion lines.

Ensure extrusion lines operate at peak efficiency.

Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and recommend improvements.

Ensure plastic sheets and rolls meet or exceed customer and MDI standards.

Ensure all team members are adequately trained.

Ensure all employees times are properly assigned to production manufacturing orders.

Works independently, efficiently manages time, and uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Employ effective, respectful and persuasive spoken and written communication skills.

Ensure compliance with work instructions and/or Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.

Troubleshoot equipment, techniques, and processes.

Process Technician - Flexo Press, Multiple Openings ($24.50 + applicable shift differential)

This position is responsible for the set-up, operation, adjustment, and light maintenance of the die cutters and flexographic printing operations. Performs tasks in compliance with Work Instructions to ensure quality and productivity standards are met.

Essential Functions:

Understands Bill of Material (BOM) and determines details for specifics regarding jobs: quantity, production times, stock specifications, colors and color sequences.

Select and install printing plates, dies and related equipment in accordance with known specifications.

Ink management: blending, testing, and maintaining ink consistency to optimize print quality.

Operates equipment to ensure proper ink coverage, alignment and registration.

Maintains and adjusts equipment to ensure products meet specifications.

Troubleshoot equipment processes and techniques, recommending improvements.

Detect and report any equipment malfunctions.

Perform and document required quality checks.

Works independently, efficiently manages time, and uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Obtain and maintain forklift certification through MDI training programs

SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

1st: 6:30am-3:00pm Monday to Friday

2nd: 2:30pm-11:00pm Monday to Friday (base wage + $0.50 shift differential)

3rd: 10:30pm-7:00am Monday to Friday (base wage + $1.00 shift differential)

Qualifications:

1-2 years of related manufacturing experience preferred

Must have a Mechanical aptitude and enthusiasm for hands-on work.

Able to effectively perform all basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) and ability to learn measurement tools.

Ability to effectively read, interpret and communicate industry and customer specific documentation.

Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain attention to detail.

Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.

Verified eligibility for employment in the United States.
