Job Title: Project ManagerJob Description
Our company is seeking a Project Manager to oversee commercial plumbing projects from award through closeout. This role involves working closely with clients, general contractors, field personnel, and company leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. Our work spans Southeast Michigan, including the Tri-County area, Brighton, and Port Huron, with a diverse portfolio across healthcare, hospitality, retail, office, and entertainment markets. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Coordinator looking to advance their career in construction management.
Responsibilities

Manage commercial plumbing projects from award through closeout.

Review and interpret plans, specifications, drawings, submittals, and contract documents.

Coordinate with clients, general contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, and field personnel.

Manage RFIs, change orders, project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking.

Support and coordinate field operations with union plumbers and foremen.

Attend project meetings and provide regular updates on project status, costs, and schedule.

Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Utilize Trimble software and maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements.
Essential Skills
-
2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or in a related commercial construction role.

Ability to review and interpret submittals, plans, specifications, and construction drawings.

Experience managing project documentation, RFIs, change orders, schedules, and project coordination activities.
-
Experience communicating with clients and general contractors.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
-
Experience managing plumbing, mechanical, MEP, or commercial construction projects.

Experience with Trimble software.

Experience working in a union construction environment.

Experience supporting healthcare, hospitality, retail, office, or institutional construction projects.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Work Environment
This is a mix of office and field-based position located in Shelby Township, MI, with approximately 30-40% time spent in the office. You will visit project sites about three times a week, with gas expenses covered. You will work in a small, family-owned company alongside 2-3 colleagues in the office, supporting approximately 12-15 union plumbers across active projects. The environment is collaborative, fostering long-standing client and contractor relationships.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $52.90/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
