DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
-
The Compliance and Policy Specialist, under the supervision of the Compliance Manager, is responsible for coordinating the development, review, education, revision, approval, distribution, and preservation of all policies, procedures, guidelines, plans, and forms for Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers. The role also supports the Compliance Program by performing compliance-related projects and activities, including assisting with investigations, education and training, risk assessments, and auditing and monitoring functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional/Educational
-
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required.
-
Master’s degree preferred
-
Minimum of five years of healthcare experience
-
Healthcare Compliance Certification encouraged when eligible to test (one year in a full time compliance experience or 1500 hours of direct compliance duties)
-
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and EMR related applications.

Knowledge of system applications (i-Share, Midas, Meditech, Lippincott)

Working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements applicable to acute care hospitals (CMS, IDPH, ACHC, HIPAA).

- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and disciplines.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow directions accurately and maintain confidentiality.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently within established guidelines.

Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to think critically when evaluating problems and making decisions.
Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
