Sigma Defense is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our team in Mount Laurel, NJ.

Requirements

5+ years experience as a software manager leading a team of software developers in an engineering environment.
-
10+ years experience developing software.
-
Experience implementing and improving software development processes.
-
Demonstrated experience leading software development in support of business goals.
-
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Candidate Differentiators:

Experience developing and testing radar systems.

Experience with Digital Signal Processing.

Experience with ISO and CMMI standards.

Experience developing real-time embedded systems.
Computer Programs/Software:

Familiarity with C++ development and accompanying build systems.

Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.
Personnel Clearance Level:

Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering or related field of study.
Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):
-
Lead a group of 20 software engineers to design and maintain software that implements instrumentation radars and threat radar models.
-
Provide day-to-day technical and task leadership for a team of software engineers, ensuring delivery of high-quality software on cost, schedule, and technical performance.
-
Collaborate closely with program, system, and hardware managers to plan and execute projects.
-
Work with program managers and leadership to plan project staffing for ongoing and upcoming projects.
-
When staff is needed, work with Sigma Defense Talent Recruiters to find, interview and select software engineering staff.
-
Work with local universities to select and hire software co-ops and interns.
-
Assist software teams to meet project and business objectives.
-
Implement and lead software development processes and standards including quality assurance.
-
Mentor and coach engineers on technical growth, career development, and performance expectations.

Manage employee performance thru Objective Key Result goals, regular 1-on-1 meetings and performance reviews.

Interact with Sigma Defense QMS organization to implement ISO and CMMI requirements and support audits.

Carry out company policies by ensuring training and time recording is carried out.

Ensure site software tools and licenses are procured, up-to-date, and meet cyber-security requirements.

Work with Human Resources to assist employees as needed (onboarding, off-boarding, personal issues, leave-of-absences, etc.).

Assist program managers to create estimates and technical descriptions to respond to proposals.
-
Lead and contribute technically to projects by generating, tracking, and updating programs, developing and working within program budgets, and generating and presenting at customer program reviews.
Salary Range: $173,000 - $209,000 annually.
