EMT-B - Level I / ALSTAR Jamestown

ALSTAR EMS is a private ambulance company servicing Chautauqua County for over 30 years. Through our ambulance stations in Dunkirk, NY and Jamestown, NY and the Starflight Medevac program, we respond to over 17,000 calls per year.

We are a growing company looking for a FULL-TIME Basic EMT to join our team in the Jamestown office.

Will need to have NYS EMT B and be CPR Certified

Responsibilities:

• 1. Check vehicle per part 800 standards beginning each shift.
• 1. Operate assigned vehicle safely during driving, parking and in emergency mode.
• 1. Safely transport wheel-stretcher bound patients as necessary.
• 1. Complete billing forms and PCRs in a timely fashion.
• 1. Responds to assigned calls in a timely fashion.
• 1. Ensure cleanliness of quarters, vehicle and patient equipment.
• 1. Ensure safety of vehicle occupants with proper restraints.
• 1. Provide treatment at BLS level according to state protocol.
• 1. Assures restocking of basic supplies and equipment.
• 1. Is able to function at scenes appropriately as a member of a team.
• 1. Uses proper radio etiquette and procedures.
• 1. Functions appropriately in charge of patient care for those not requiring ALS.
• 1. Proactively works to improve services and results and takes initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and implements accordingly.
• 1. Demonstrates and delivers quality customer service to internal and external customers, always keeping patient/customer satisfaction a priority.
• 1. Provides patient care and/or generates work results that are thorough, accurate, orderly and value-added consistent with hospital policies and procedures.
• 1. Anticipates internal and/or external customer needs and facilitates meeting those needs.

Ability to render professional basic emergency care in accordance with N.Y.S basic protocol standards.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Must complete ICS-100, NIMS700 and HAZMAT Awareness (Post 9/11/2001) training within 6 months of hire.

New York SCR Application - Due within first week of Hire New York Mandated Reporter - Due within 90 days of hire or transfer BLS required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration due upon hire

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
