Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is a subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sony Corporation. SPE's global operations encompass motion picture production and distribution; television production and distribution; home entertainment acquisition and distribution; a global channel network; digital content creation and distribution; operation of studio facilities; development of new entertainment products, services, and technologies; and distribution of entertainment in 159 countries.
SPE is currently accepting applications for an Occupational, Health, and Safety Manager. This position is based at the SPE corporate offices located in Culver City. The position will be focused on the Sony Pictures Studio Lot and will be responsible for completing critical regulatory tasks to support the Enterprise Corporate Safety team. The candidate will be a self-starter with excellent time management skills, who has demonstrated knowledge in the field of corporate safety and the ability to manage important tasks across several sites.
Primary Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards, including Cal/OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI requirements.

Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Sony Pictures Entertainment's (SPE) Safety programs across all Culver City locations, including but not limited to Confined Space Entry, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Fall Protection, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Powered Industrial Trucks, and Heat Illness Prevention.

Conduct routine site safety inspections to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and verify that identified deficiencies are resolved in a timely manner.

Monitor and follow up with department supervisors to ensure required inspections of industrial equipment including portable ladders, forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and suspended scaffolds. Ensure they are completed, documented, and maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Develop, distribute and conduct periodic safety communications and trainings, including Safety Toolbox Talks, to reinforce safe work practices and increase employee awareness of workplace hazards.

Develop and implement Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for multiple departments to identify task-specific hazards, establish effective control measures, standardize safe work practices, and deliver employee training.

Coordinate fall protection equipment inspections, maintain inspection records, and manage equipment inventory.

Calibrate, inspect, maintain, and track industrial hygiene (IH) monitoring equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance.

Assist with incident and accident investigations by collaborating with department leadership to determine root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Conduct periodic audits of employee training records within Contract Services and the company's internal safety management system to verify compliance with required training, certifications, and qualifications for equipment operation and work-related activities.
Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, or related field

5-7 years of progressive occupational health/safety experience, with a demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety program development, incident investigation, risk assessment, or other relevant experience

Ability to plan, organize, and follow-up on workflow to meet department goals and objectives.

Strong verbal, written communication and time management skills.

Proven ability to focus on issues and organize tasks to solve complex problems.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Illustrator, and Canva.

Must be able to climb up to 60’ feet on a ladder.

OSHA 30-hour training a plus.
