JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, Emergency Services, Multi Campus working independently, has overall administrative, operational, clinical, fiscal, and strategic responsibility for Emergency Services across three hospital Emergency Departments.

The Director, Emergency Services, Multi Campus is accountable for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, coordinating, and promoting Emergency Services in the delivery of safe, high-quality, efficient, patient-centered care across the health system.

The Director, Emergency Services, Multi Campus provides direct leadership and supervision to the Emergency Department Nurse Managers at each hospital campus. The Nurse Managers are responsible for daily operations and execution of established strategies, standards, goals, and performance expectations at their respective sites.

The Director, Emergency Services, Multi Campus maintains overall accountability for clinical practice and patient care delivery, quality and patient safety, Emergency Department throughput and patient flow, human resources and workforce performance, financial management, regulatory and accreditation compliance, patient experience, employee engagement, leadership development, and performance improvement across all three Emergency Departments.

In collaboration with Emergency Medicine physician leadership, hospital executives, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary partners, the Director, Emergency Services, Multi Campus establishes an integrated Emergency Services model that promotes standardization, reduces unnecessary variation, optimizes resources, and drives measurable improvement in clinical, operational, workforce, and financial outcomes.

EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in Massachusetts.

  • Minimum of five years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute-care setting.

  • Significant Emergency Services and/or Critical Care leadership experience.

  • Demonstrated experience with clinical operations, human resources, workforce management, financial management, quality and patient safety, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple departments, locations, and nursing leaders.

  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change and achieving measurable performance improvement.

  • Computer literacy and demonstrated ability to utilize data and technology to support decision-making.

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Previous multi-site, system-level, or service-line leadership experience.

  • Certification in Emergency Nursing and/or Nursing Leadership.
