Advanced Practice Provider - Clinic Opportunities in Ogdensburg, NY North Star Health Alliance

Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant looking to elevate your clinical practice while enjoying an exceptional work-life balance in one of New York’s most scenic regions? Join the North Star Health Alliance team in Ogdensburg, situated along the St. Lawrence River. Whether you thrive on the charm of the 1000 Islands, the peaks of the Adirondacks, or the international flair of nearby Ottawa, our community offers a high quality of life both inside and outside the clinic.

The Opportunity

We are seeking collaborative, patient-centered Advanced Practice Providers (NPs and PAs) to join our growing clinical teams across three core specialty areas: Family Practice, Pediatrics, and Cardiology. Whether you are passionate about comprehensive primary care, dedicated to pediatric development, or specialized in cardiovascular management, North Star Health Alliance provides a supportive, multidisciplinary environment where you can build a fulfilling clinical career tailored to your specialty expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Family Practice: Deliver comprehensive primary care services across the lifespan. Manage acute illnesses, direct chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, COPD), perform routine health maintenance screenings, and promote long-term wellness.

  • Pediatrics: Conduct well-child exams, track developmental milestones, administer immunizations, and evaluate pediatric acute conditions from infancy through adolescence. Provide compassionate, family-centered health education.

  • Cardiology: Partner with supervising cardiologists to provide specialized outpatient cardiac care. Assess and manage complex cardiovascular conditions (CAD, heart failure, arrhythmias, post-MI care), interpret diagnostic findings, and oversee post-procedure follow-ups.

  • Collaborative Care & Continuity: Work alongside physicians, specialty clinicians, nurses, and care coordinators to build integrated treatment plans and ensure smooth care transitions.

  • Schedule: Primarily Day Shift (Monday–Friday) with rotational weekend or call responsibilities depending on department assignment.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

  • Licensure & Certification: Active (or eligible for) unencumbered New York State license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN/NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C). National Board Certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA) appropriate to specialty practice (FNP, PNP, AGNP, or PA).

  • Prescriptive Authority: Active NYS prescriptive authority and valid DEA registration (or eligible).

  • Experience: Open to both experienced providers and promising new graduates with strong clinical rotations in primary care, pediatrics, or cardiovascular health.

  • Visas: Welcoming qualified J-1 and H-1B visa applicants for upcoming recruitment cycles.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Financial: Highly competitive base salary with performance and wRVU productivity incentives.

  • Sign-On: Generous sign-on bonus and relocation assistance package.

  • Education: CME stipend, paid educational leave, and student loan repayment program eligibility.

  • Security: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, and malpractice coverage.

  • Lifestyle: Exceptional work-life balance near Lake Placid, the Adirondack Foothills, and the Canadian border.
