Join Bridgerland Technical College as a Substitute Apprentice Plumber Instructor and help prepare the next generation of skilled plumbing professionals. Located in Logan, Utah, this onsite position offers an exciting opportunity to share your industry expertise while supporting apprentices as they develop the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed for successful careers in the plumbing trade.

About Bridgerland Technical College
Bridgerland Technical College is one of eight technical colleges in Utah. We provide high-quality technical education to those in the Bear River Region. Through hands-on learning and strong industry partnerships, we prepare students for successful careers in today's workforce.
What You'll Do
As a Substitute Apprentice Plumber Instructor, you'll provide instructional support when regular faculty members are unavailable, ensuring apprentices continue to receive high-quality classroom instruction in a safe, engaging, and professional learning environment.
In this role, you will:

Deliver organized learning opportunities using approved curriculum and instructional materials.

Provide technical instruction in plumbing theory, code requirements, safety practices, and industry standards.

Administer and evaluate quizzes, exams, and student assignments.

Monitor student attendance, progress, and competency development.
-
Encourage student retention and support successful program completion.
-
Assist students in preparing for industry certifications and career opportunities.

Build and maintain positive relationships with local employers to stay informed about workforce needs and industry trends.

Support curriculum updates based on advisory committee recommendations and current industry practices.

Maintain compliance with college policies, accreditation requirements, and apprenticeship standards.

Participate in professional development activities to maintain current industry knowledge.

Foster a safe, organized, and professional classroom environment.

Support program recruitment, outreach, and other departmental initiatives as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
Successful candidates will have:

A minimum of six years of related plumbing experience and completion of a formal apprenticeship program.

A current Utah Journeyman Plumber License.

Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience is preferred.

Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, safety regulations, and current industry practices.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and Windows-based computer applications.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Strong organizational and classroom management abilities.
