Shape the data platform behind enterprise-scale network security. Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy and roadmap for Strata Logging Service and the data platform capabilities supporting Strata Cloud Manager.

The scope spans high-volume log and telemetry ingestion, real-time streaming and processing, data lake storage, retention, and forwarding—foundational capabilities that support security visibility, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled automation.

Working at the intersection of customer needs and platform architecture, this product manager partners closely with engineering to define requirements and evaluate tradeoffs across throughput, latency, data freshness, reliability, and cloud infrastructure economics. Ownership includes a three-to-five-year platform vision, a phased execution roadmap, and measurable customer and business outcomes.

Success requires demonstrated technical product management experience with logging, observability, streaming data, or comparable distributed data platforms, combined with enterprise customer judgment and the ability to lead complex initiatives from discovery through launch and adoption.

This position is based at Palo Alto Networks headquarters in Santa Clara, California, with a hybrid schedule requiring three days onsite per week.

Your Impact

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for Strata Logging Service and related logging and telemetry platform capabilities.
  • Define requirements for real-time ingestion, streaming data processing, storage, retention, and forwarding of network and security data.
  • Partner with engineering on platform tradeoffs involving ingestion throughput, end-to-end latency, data freshness, durability, availability, and infrastructure cost.
  • Define customer requirements for data onboarding, supported sources, schema evolution, data quality, delivery failures, and recovery.
  • Develop a three-to-five-year platform vision and translate it into prioritized, achievable roadmap increments.
  • Engage enterprise customers, network and security administrators, partners, and field teams to understand operational workflows and unmet needs.
  • Translate customer problems into product requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable success metrics.
  • Establish platform metrics covering ingestion success, throughput, latency, reliability, customer adoption, and cost efficiency.
  • Support growing data volumes and multi-tenant SaaS requirements while balancing performance, reliability, and cloud economics.
  • Partner across product teams to support logging, telemetry, and visibility requirements for new network security capabilities.
  • Identify AI-enabled analytics and automation opportunities grounded in customer problems and the platform’s data capabilities.
  • Lead capabilities from discovery through launch, adoption, and ongoing optimization.
  • Partner with UX and engineering to deliver intuitive platform experiences that simplify the work of network and security administrators.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy and identify emerging customer needs.
  • Partner with product marketing, technical marketing, sales engineering, and support on positioning, enablement, beta programs, and customer escalations.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including ownership of technical enterprise software, SaaS, or cloud platform products.
  • Demonstrated product ownership of a logging, telemetry, observability, streaming data, security data, or comparable high-volume data platform.
  • Experience defining requirements for real-time or near-real-time data ingestion and processing, together with downstream storage or data delivery.
  • Ability to discuss technical tradeoffs involving distributed data pipelines, throughput, latency, schema evolution, retention, reliability, and cost with engineering teams.
  • Experience defining long-term product strategy and translating it into phased roadmaps, clear priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ownership of product discovery, requirements, prioritization, delivery, launch, and adoption.
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers and translating complex operational needs into platform capabilities.
  • Experience using customer feedback, usage data, and platform performance metrics to guide product decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical, written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, equivalent practical experience, or equivalent military experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with network security, network management, next-generation firewalls, or security operations products.
  • Product experience with log management, security information and event management (SIEM), security analytics, or observability platforms.
  • Familiarity with event-streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka, Amazon Kinesis, or comparable systems.
  • Experience with data lake architectures, high-volume telemetry storage, and the relationship between streaming pipelines and downstream analytics.
  • Experience defining log forwarding, external integrations, APIs, or data export capabilities.
  • Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure economics, including compute, storage, retention, and data transfer costs.
  • Experience with data governance, access controls, tenant isolation, or compliance requirements for enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience developing AI-enabled analytics, automation, or intelligent operational workflows.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers, partners, sales engineering, technical marketing, and technical support organizations.
