Responsibilities

The Manager, SIOP Supply Planning leads the strategic and mid-to-long-range supply planning function across the Cordis manufacturing and supply network. This role owns the development and maintenance of the integrated supply plan and the capacity planning framework for critical resources required to support demand, inventory, customer service, financial, and strategic business objectives.

The position serves as a key leader within the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process, translating the demand plan and business strategy into a forward-looking view of supply capability, resource requirements, constraints, risks, opportunities, and investment needs. The role establishes standardized supply and capacity planning processes and partners closely with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Master Scheduling, Materials, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, and Operations leadership to enable timely decisions and proactive risk management.

This role is strategic and forward-looking. The SIOP Supply Planning Manager establishes the approved supply and capacity plan and the planning assumptions required for business decisions; the Master Scheduling Manager translates the approved plan into executable schedules within the tactical planning horizon.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the development and maintenance of the rolling SIOP supply plan across the defined planning horizon, ensuring alignment with demand, inventory, customer service, financial, and strategic objectives.

• Design, implement, and govern the enterprise capacity planning process for critical resources, including manufacturing equipment, production lines, critical processes, direct and specialized labor, strategic suppliers, critical raw materials, and other identified constraints.

• Establish standardized methodologies for demonstrated capacity, available capacity, required capacity, capacity utilization, resource requirements, and future capacity gaps.

• Maintain forward-looking capacity models and Resource Requirements Plans across the appropriate planning levels, including network, site, product family, platform, brand, and other relevant levels of aggregation.

• Translate unconstrained demand into realistic, time-phased supply requirements and identify future supply-demand imbalances early enough to enable meaningful corrective action.

• Lead the monthly SIOP Supply Review, providing a forward-looking view of supply capability, capacity utilization, constraints, inventory implications, service risks, opportunities, assumptions, and decisions required.

• Develop supply scenarios and quantify the operational, financial, inventory, service, capacity, and investment implications of alternative actions to support leadership decision-making.

• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Materials, Finance, and Operations leadership to evaluate capacity expansion, productivity, labor, sourcing, capital investment, outsourcing, and other strategic responses to future constraints.

• Ensure new product introductions, product transfers, product discontinuations, portfolio changes, and business strategy changes are incorporated into future supply and capacity requirements.

• Partner with Master Scheduling to ensure the approved SIOP supply plan can be translated into a feasible tactical Master Production Schedule, with clear handoffs between strategic planning and execution.

• Own supply planning governance, standard work, planning policies, capacity assumptions, calendars, data definitions, and documentation across the network.

• Identify, communicate, and escalate future supply risks, capacity constraints, vulnerabilities, opportunities, and potential customer service, inventory, working capital, or financial exposures.

• Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve supply planning maturity, capacity visibility, scenario modeling, decision support, and responsiveness to strategic change.

• Present supply outlooks, capacity assessments, scenario recommendations, and decision requirements to Supply Chain, Operations, and executive leadership.

• Develop and coach SIOP Supply Planning talent while building organizational capability, succession depth, and planning discipline.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

University degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred for some disciplines. Requires a total minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience insupply planning, SIOP/S&OP/IBP, capacity planning, manufacturing planning, or related supply chain disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing mid-to-long-range supply and capacity plans across manufacturing or supply networks.

• Demonstrated ability to translate demand requirements into capacity, resource, inventory, and supply implications.

• Experience developing and evaluating supply scenarios and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing capacity, constraints, lead times, inventory, and supply chain planning principles.

• Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional planning initiatives across multiple sites and functions.

• Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

• APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification.

• Experience with SIOP/S&OP/Integrated Business Planning maturity frameworks.

• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.

• Multi-site or global supply planning and manufacturing experience.

• Experience with advanced planning systems, ERP/MRP platforms, capacity modeling, or planning analytics.

• Experience supporting capital planning, network strategy, working capital optimization, or supply chain transformation.

• Standardized capacity planning methodologies, assumptions, and governance across the supply network.

• Improved visibility to future capital, labor, equipment, supplier, and manufacturing capability requirements.

• Effective integration of portfolio and business strategy into future supply requirements.

• Clear and effective handoff between SIOP Supply Planning and Master Scheduling with minimal role overlap.
