We're looking for a Full‑Stack Software Engineer Sr to power the digital backbone of the F‑35 Joint Strike Fighter Composite Control Surface Edges fabrication shops, as well as the Advanced Development Program Shunk Works Lines of Business. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll build modern, scalable web apps with React, Angular, .NET Core, Node.js, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud services, turning complex production data into intuitive interfaces that streamline workflows and boost efficiency. What makes this role unique is the hands‑on collaboration with Production Operations — you’ll spend time shadowing on the shop floor and in business meetings listening for pain points to rapidly prototype solutions. What You Will Be Doing

  1. Develop, test, deploy and support full-stack applications that enable production operations use cases.

  2. Design data pipelines and database solutions to integrate manufacturing systems and automate workflow processes.

  3. Build full-stack web applications to streamline data collection and management across production systems.

  4. Create real-time dashboards and data visualizations that enable leadership and floor supervisors to make informed decisions.

  5. This role involves directly interfacing with technical and non-technical users to truly understand their needs and then rapidly iterating to develop an application that they will love to use.

Further Information About This Opportunity

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required security clearance.

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing full‑stack web applications using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, .NET Core, or Node.js

  • Familiarity with DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Azure DevOps)

  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for deployment and scaling

  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL querying, and API design (REST/GraphQL)

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with non‑technical staff, gathering requirements and translating them into user‑centric software solutions

Desired Skills

  • Prior work in a regulated or high‑security environment (DoD, aerospace, or defense)

  • Proven track record of implementing user‑centered design and usability testing, turning customer feedback into iteratively refined interfaces

  • Expertise in designing and maintaining ETL/Data‑pipelining solutions to ingest, transform, and load production data for analytics and reporting

  • Python skills for building backend services, data‑processing pipelines, and automation scripts

  • Exposure to manufacturing execution systems and industrial platforms, with hands‑on experience integrating web applications to include: SAP, Apriso, and Autotime

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
