Responsibilities:

As part of MPLX, a midstream company majority owned by MPC, Natural Gas & Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) Services interns and co-ops support real projects and routine operations and maintenance, such as:

  • Project scope development, including estimating, scheduling, design, contractor engagement and construction oversight.

  • DOT-regulated pipeline integrity and maintenance programs.

  • Field work at pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, gas processing plants and related facilities.

Interns and co-ops assist company professionals by supporting midstream initiatives across our Natural Gas & NGL Services operations, including:

  • Automation/controls engineering

  • Electrical engineering

  • Process engineering

  • Process optimization engineering

  • Project engineering

  • Operations engineering

  • Reliability engineering

  • Pipeline integrity

  • Corrosion

  • Measurement services

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum/Natural Gas, or Electrical Engineering.

  • Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree (or higher) seeking program for the duration of the experience.

  • Strong academic performance.

  • Available to work on site 40 hours per week.

  • Valid driver's license for work-related travel.

  • Must be able to provide reliable transportation to and from place of work.

  • Will require time spent in the field monitoring and managing activities as required in various areas of our midstream natural gas and light crude facilities.

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States with the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Available for multiple work terms is preferred.

  • MIN - $33.54 per hour / MAX - $43.23 per hour
