Full job description

Why Rogo Our mission is to transform global finance by empowering professionals at the world's top investment banks, private equity funds, and investment firms with AI that delivers unparalleled speed, accuracy, and insight. We're not just improving financial workflows; we're redefining them. This is a unique opportunity to join a generational company driving transformation in one of the most important industries in the world. With a rapidly growing, global client base, proven product-market fit, and backing from world-class investors, we are scaling quickly and defining a new category of enterprise AI. Our team is sharp, motivated, and deeply committed to Rogo’s mission. We take ownership of complex problems and stay relentlessly focused on our users. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, demand excellence, and want to help build the future of finance, we invite you to join us. What You Will Own As a Backend Software Engineer on the Internal Automation team, you'll own the systems that determine how much of this company's work has to be done by a person at all: the services, pipelines, and agents that connect Rogo's internal systems of record and act on them. Rogo builds AI that does the work of financial professionals. This role points that same capability inward.

  • Own internal systems end to end: Take ambiguous operational problems and turn them into production services, from conception to deployment. Routing, approvals, notifications, reporting, provisioning, and the workflows that currently live in spreadsheets and in people's heads.

  • Build the internal data layer: Integrate heterogeneous systems of record (CRM, product usage, billing, call recordings, support history, third-party enrichment) into a coherent, reliable, queryable picture of every account and every customer interaction.

  • Ship agents that run unattended: Design agent workflows that do real work, including research, enrichment, drafting, summarization, data entry, and systems hygiene. Build the evals, guardrails, and monitoring that make them trustworthy enough to run against production systems without a human watching.

  • Automate the customer lifecycle: Build the provisioning, onboarding, and account setup systems that keep implementation from becoming the bottleneck as Rogo's enterprise customer base grows.

  • Build with the same AI that powers the product: The automations you build are themselves powered by the techniques and infrastructure used across the rest of the platform. You will be one of the most demanding internal users of Rogo's own technology, and what you learn goes directly back to the teams building it.

  • Handle company and customer data with care: Build secure, compliant integrations that treat internal and enterprise customer data with the highest standards of trust, privacy, and reliability.

  • Measure your own impact: Instrument what you ship and hold it to real numbers, including hours returned to the team, error rates, and cycle time. Retire what does not earn its keep.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field.

  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping and operating production backend systems end to end.

  • Strong TypeScript for backend services and APIs. Working proficiency in Java/Python or another second language is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience deploying and running production services on GCP or an equivalent cloud stack.

  • Strong command of relational databases and SQL, including schema design, query optimization, and modeling data that other systems and teams build on top of.

  • Demonstrated experience building on LLMs in production: prompting, tool and function calling, retrieval, and agent workflows, along with the evaluation and guardrails that keep them reliable.

  • Fluency integrating third-party APIs, including REST, webhooks, authentication, rate limits, pagination, and reconciling data across systems that were never designed to work together.

  • Working knowledge of asynchronous patterns: queuing, background jobs, scheduling, retries and idempotency, and robust observability (logging, metrics, tracing).

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders, translate how they actually work into requirements, and ship against them without a spec handed to you.

  • Track record of shipping high-quality software in unstructured, fast-moving environments with full autonomy from conception to deployment.

  • Demonstrated passion for AI agents and automation, evidenced by systems you have built rather than tools you have read about.

  • Interest in corporate finance and capital markets is a strong plus. You will be automating against the workflows of a company that sells to investment professionals.

Who You Are

  • You thrive in fast-paced environments. You are high-intensity and care a lot about what you do, and you're ecstatic to work at a startup.

  • You are ambitious. You have fun solving problems that others think are impossible.

  • You are curious. You find joy in learning about AI, technology, and finance.

  • You are an owner. You are autonomous, self-directed, and comfortable working with ambiguity.

  • You are collaborative, organized, thoughtful, and kind.

Why Join Rogo?

  • Up and to the right: Rogo has strong product adoption with the world's leading financial institutions, and we are still early. The upside is enormous.

  • Extraordinary team: we take talent density seriously. You'll do the best work of your career alongside some of the sharpest people in AI and finance.

  • A one-of-one problem: bringing AI to the core of how Wall Street works is one of the most ambitious, technically demanding, and consequential problems today. There is nowhere else you can work on it at this scale.

  • Real ownership: You'll own real surface area and watch the world's most sophisticated users rely on your work.

  • Always at the frontier: we work at the edge of what the best models can do and turn it into products people trust. If you're obsessed with AI, this is where it's happening.
