You will engineer and administer secure, scalable, and highly available database platforms, while supporting critical data pipelines and reporting systems.

  • Design, maintain, and enhance platform architectures for on-premises, Azure VM, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) SQL Server instances.

  • Establish and enforce standards for database availability, performance, security, patching, and lifecycle management.

  • Install, configure, patch, and maintain SQL Server instances in on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Manage performance tuning, indexing, replication, encryption, and secure configuration standards.

  • Oversee high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Always On and clustering.

  • Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices to strengthen SDLC-quality routines for data pipelines (e.g., test generation and control validation), ensuring traceability/auditability and alignment to resiliency and security expectations.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server engineering and administration.

  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups, Windows Server Failover Clustering, backup/restore, and performance tuning.

  • Advanced T-SQL skills, including troubleshooting complex scenarios.

  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support data engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.

  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted outputs (e.g., query suggestions, test ideas, or model change summaries) before use, escalating when uncertain and following data handling requirements.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience supporting portfolio management, trading, or financial systems.

  • Background in database DevOps, CI/CD pipeline design, and release governance.

  • Familiarity with Azure and GCP SQL Server VM operations.

  • Experience defining platform programs, charters, KPIs, and operational metrics.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
