Full job description
About the role Genesis brings together AI research, simulation, and robotics to build general-purpose robots that can work in the real world. Our mission is to unlock unlimited physical labor. Building that company takes more than hiring exceptional people. It takes clear expectations, strong managers, honest feedback, and an organization that helps people do their best work. You’ll partner closely with leaders and teams to make that happen. You’ll help managers navigate difficult decisions, build the people practices we need as we grow, and stay close enough to the work to know whether those practices are actually helping. This is a role for someone who can discuss organizational design with a leader in the morning and work through a sensitive employee situation in the afternoon. Strong judgment, practical execution, and trust matter equally. What you’ll own
-
Being a trusted partner to leaders. Understand their priorities, challenge their thinking when needed, and translate business goals into clear decisions about teams, capabilities, and headcount.
-
Helping managers become better managers. Coach on expectations, feedback, development, team dynamics, and difficult conversations. Give managers practical support they can use immediately.
-
Making performance and growth clear. Build and run lightweight approaches to goal setting, performance reviews, calibration, and career development. Help people understand what good looks like and how to grow.
-
Supporting teams through change. Partner on organizational design, evolving responsibilities, leadership transitions, and communication as the company scales.
-
Handling sensitive situations well. Navigate employee concerns, conflict, and performance issues with fairness, discretion, and sound judgment, bringing in Legal or local specialists when needed.
-
Turning signals into action. Combine employee feedback, people data, and your understanding of the business to identify retention risks and organizational friction early.
-
Making the employee experience coherent. Work with Recruiting, People Operations, Finance, and Legal to connect hiring, onboarding, development, compensation decisions, and transitions.
You’ll thrive here if
-
You’ve independently partnered with senior leaders as a People Partner or HR Business Partner in a demanding, fast-growing environment.
-
You earn trust with technical teams through preparation, direct communication, and consistent follow-through.
-
You’ve coached managers through real performance, development, and employee relations situations.
-
You can build a people practice from scratch and take responsibility for running it.
-
You balance empathy with clear expectations and are comfortable addressing difficult issues early.
-
You use data to sharpen your judgment while staying attentive to the context behind the numbers.
-
You know when to act independently and when a situation needs specialist advice.
Bonus points
-
You’ve supported engineering, research, AI, robotics, or other deeply technical teams.
-
You’ve worked across France, the UK, and the US.
-
You’ve helped a startup introduce its first performance, career, or manager development frameworks.
-
You’ve supported a company through rapid international growth.
The offer
-
Competitive base salary plus meaningful equity.
-
Visa sponsorship and relocation support.
-
Hybrid: 3–4+ days per week in our office.
-
The opportunity to shape how a frontier AI and robotics company develops its people, supports its managers, and grows its organization.
Genesis is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
